July 30, 2011           Indian Nations Live 2011!

Indian Nations Live is the premier live model horse show in Oklahoma!  Indian Nations is also the oldest show in the state, having started back in 1980 in Charlene Marshall’s back yard.  The show is held at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Dewey, OK (MapQuest directions to 1115 N. Delaware St., Dewey OK 74029; or find it by going north on US 75 from Tulsa or Bartlesville; pass through a stoplight in Dewey at Durham, then at Don Tyler, finally turn left on Bulldogger, follow the road past the school to the Fairgrounds).  Dewey is in the northeast corner of Oklahoma, just north of Tulsa.  Dewey is the home of the Tom Mix museum, which is dedicated to the life of the cowboy screen legend, plus we have MANY antique stores!

This show is open to any model horse shower, whether this is their first show or they have been showing for 20 years.  The show will start at 8:30 am.  The show hall will open at 7 am.  We will break for lunch at noon, with the show resuming at 12:45.  Lunch will be provided for a small fee, but you must reserve in advance.   There will be the highly anticipated Indian Nations Live cake!!  Commercial ribbons will be awarded 1st – 8th place in each class, and large custom rosettes for Champs & Reserves.  The Charlene Marshall Memorial Mini Division has ribbons 1st - 7th and Mini rosettes for Champs and Reserve Champs.  The Charlene Marshall Memorial Mini Division is sponsored by Kay Hill.  Kay also is helping sponsor the show hall. There will be a photo center for any winner to have its photo taken with the INL logo in the background.

Other features of the show include fabulous door prizes, and raffle items, and other special freebies.  Paint a Stablemates or Wind Dancers horse!

Wild Horse Collectibles will be exclusively selling Breyers.  Entrants are encouraged to bring retired models, tack, and other accessories to sell from their table.

Judges for Indian Nations Live 2011 are:  Kat Jamison-Patnode-OF & CM Performance; TBA-OF Halter; Gay Mahlandt-Mini Division-OF, TBA-Mini Division-CM, and TBA-CM Halter.

Local Hotels (Bartlesville-about 5 miles south of the show hall directly on US 75), including average rate:

Microtel (furthest away, but inexpensive; on the east of US 75) (918) 333-2100 $49; Best Western-Weston Inn (918) 335-7755 (2nd closest to Dewey; on the east of highway) $69; Super 8 (across from Best Western; on the west of highway) (918) 335-1122 $39; Hampton Inn  (closest to Dewey; on the east of highway) (918) 333-4051 $92; LaQuinta (on the east of highway, close to Candlewood) (918) 331-9151 $63; Holiday Inn Express (next furthest away, but next to mall; on the east of highway) (918)766-0020 $76; Econo Lodge (just off the highway; on the east of highway) (918) 333-0710 $49; Candlewood Suites (on east side of highway) (918)766-0044 $65; Fairfield Inn (918)331-2100 (same local number as Microtel, for some reason; on west side of highway) $84.  All hotels are right on US Highway 75 and within easy driving distance to the show hall.  All are on Washington Blvd. except HIE, which is just off the highway on Price Rd, and Econo Lodge, which is at the intersection of US 75 and US 60/Nowata Rd.

This show is sponsored by Wild Horse Collectibles, an authorized Breyer dealer.  Please direct any questions to Cassie Hayes, P.O. Box 363, Dewey, OK 74029.  email:  modelhorse@earthlink.net  phone:  (918)534-3972 ; web address:  www.wildhorsemodels.com

See the entry form after the class lists for show fees.  If you make any products you would like to donate to the show, or have any models you would like to donate, please contact me.  You will receive an ad or acknowledgement in the show results.

*Side note:  starting in 2011, the Fairgrounds is requiring the user to put tables and chairs up.  With my medical condition I’d appreciate help putting them away after the show.  The more of us there are, the quicker it will be done and you can go out for dinner or whatever your plans will be.  Thanks!!!

Rules for Indian Nations Live-Open Division:

E For the purposes of this show, a model entered in an OF Halter or Performance class is a plastic, china or resin model of any make in original factory finish, with undetectable touchups or repairs.  A model entered in a CM Halter or Performance class is any horse that has been altered in color, position, or texture.  ANY CLASS MAY BE SPLIT AS THE JUDGE SEES FIT.

E  For each class you will have a 3x5 card/paper with your horse’s name, breed, sex and your name/initials.  The judge will keep the cards for the 1-8 placers in each class.  You will also provide a new card for each horse that is called back for Champion/Reserve (those that placed 1st in each class).  A string tag identifying your horse would also be a good idea to prevent mix ups.  PLEASE PRINT CLEARLY!  IF I CAN’T READ IT, IT GOES ON THE OFFICIAL NAMHSA OFFICIAL RECORD AS WHATEVER I INTERPRET IT AS!  TRY TO NAME YOUR HORSE THE SAME THING ON ALL ITS CARDS (YES, THIS IS ACTUALLY A PROBLEM).  DO NOT FORGET TO PUT YOUR NAME OR INITIALS ON THE CARD, BACK OR FRONT (THIS IS A BIG ISSUE, PLEASE DON’T FORGET).

E There is a limit of 6 horses per class per shower.  You cannot enter the same horse in another halter class by changing the breed or name.  If this happens, the horse will be disqualified.

E Handlers are optional if you choose a Showmanship entry, and carts are optional if you have a harness entry.  Halters are discouraged from being used in Halter classes.

E PERFORMANCE:  Because performance entries in the past are few to none, I’ll be adopting the NAN style of making a classlist.  Before the show, let me know what performance entries you are submitting (aside from Western & English Huntseat Perf.) and I’ll set the Performance divisions before the show.  You’ll be notified in advance what the updated performance class list will be.    Please have the classes you intend to enter to me by July 28.

E PLEASE DO YOUR BEST TO COMPLY with time limits between Performance classes.  Performance classes may be split by type, or with or without rider where warranted.  If you have more than one horse appearing in a Performance entry, be sure it is clear which horse is being judged.

E 3x5 cards or other means of explanations of your performance entries are extremely helpful to the judges, unless the entry is obvious.  Appropriate obstacles/accessories are required for the Western trail classes.  Explanations are also a good idea for unusual breeds in halter classes.  Try to make the “explanation” as small as possible so it doesn’t take up much table space.  Please use an explanation card in Anything Goes, and the entry will be judged as a whole, so name your entry and put your name on the card.

E Any class will be split if the entries warrant.  The judge will let you know how a class will be split.

ALL ENTRANTS MUST, I REPEAT MUST, TURN IN AN ENTRANT FORM.  TOO MANY OF US DON’T BOTHER, AND THE SHOWHOLDER HAS NO WAY TO CONTACT YOU WITH RESULTS, INFORMATION, ETC.  PLEASE REMEMBER TO PUT YOUR NAME OR INITIALS ON YOUR 3X5 CARDS.  I’M NOT GOING TO BABYSIT YOU.  IF YOUR CARD DOESN’T HAVE THE SHOWER’S NAME, IT WON’T GO TO NAMHSA!

Indian Nations Live, July 30, 2011 ~ CM and OF Charlene Marshall Memorial Mini Division (includes Stablemates, Chips, Pebbles, Little Bits, resins, and others of this size).   See the rules for the “regular size” halter division, as they all apply here, also.
